  1. What kind of design & development work do you do?

Web work. I design and build a wide range of web sites and web apps. From simple brochure sites, to complex web-apps. I use mainly open sourced technologies, like the LAMP stack. I can write CSS and valid (X)HTML with my eyes one eye closed. Most of my projects use some form of JavaScript (I ♥ jQuery!). Sometimes I dabble a bit with XML, SOAP & JSON for AJAX type functionality.

Often I use a CMS or CMF like MODx, WordPress, Joomla! or CodeIgniter to help speed up the development time.

I have some very experienced friends who can help if you need Flash, logo design or illustrations.

  2. What makes you unique?

The average first-time visit to a site lasts only 4 to 8 seconds. I know how to design a site that sparkles enough interest to keep those visitors there and check out what you have to offer.

The sites I build are accessible on a wide range of appliances like mobile phones and screen readers, as well as modern browsers. With and without JavaScript, CSS and Flash.

Other elements I focus on are search engine friendliness, usability and maintainability.

  3. What kind of clients do you have?

Most of my clients are small to medium-sized businesses anywhere on this planet. If you have a hotel or resort in Thailand, ask about my soon-to-be launched sister project Dee Jang.

  4. How much do you charge?

This depends on the size of the job. I usually charge by the project. The minimum price for a site, including design, developing and installation on your server will be around 500 Euro.

  5. What is your work process?
    • After discussing your requirements, wishes and budget, we determine scope of the project.
    • After we have signed a contract and you have supplied me with the content (text, images, address, etc.) and a deposit, I will make a design of the site in Photoshop.
    • Once you are happy with the design, I will re-create this design in (X)HTML and CSS.
    • I will setup the back end logic (CMS, CMF, PHP, MySQL, etc.), so you can easily manage the site yourself in the future.
    • I will integrate the (X)HTML and CSS with backend.
    • I will install the site on my server, so you can test it.
    • After making the last changes, I will install the site on your server (I will help you find one, if necessary).
    • I will optimize the site for speed.
    • We drink champagne.

Not every project is the same, so sometimes this process needs to be adjusted to your requirements.

  6. What kind of business relationship will we have?

If you are not located in Bangkok, most of our communication will go through email, Skype or instant messenging. I respond quickly to emails and you can find me online during my working hours.

To avoid confusion, I will communicate with one contact person in your company.

  7. How do I pay you?

Depending on the size of the project I ask 33% to 50% up front. The only exception would be a very large project, where we agree on a monthly payment.

You can pay me by Paypal or you can transfer it to my bank, I have accounts both in Thailand and the Netherlands. Details are available upon request.

  8. How long have you been in business?

I quit my day job last year, May 2008, to found this company. The company was officially registered on the auspicious date 08-08-08. Which is kinda cool.

I have been making websites for clients for a bit over 3 years now.

  9. Where are you located, and what are your hours?

I’m located in Bangkok, Thailand. Which is in the time zone that’s 7 hours later than the Universal Greenwich Time (UTC+7). See the current time in Bangkok.

From Monday to Friday, I am usually available from 9.30 AM until 5.30 PM.
